This FAQ list will be updated as convention approaches. If you have any additional questions, please contact [email protected].
Is International Convention cancelled?
No, AEPi’s International Convention is not cancelled. This year’s convention will not be held on-site in Atlanta out of an abundance of caution for our Brothers and guests due to the ongoing pandemic. We have reimagined this year’s Convention as a virtual event!
When is International Convention?
Monday, July 6 through Sunday, July 12.
How will AEPi International host sessions?
All sessions for this year’s Convention will be held virtually through Zoom. After registering, the only thing you’ll need is a smart phone or computer and an internet connection.
What should I wear?
Whatever you’re comfortable in! That’s the beauty of hosting all sessions online. You can wear your favorite AEPi letters or stroll in wearing your pajamas.
What is the cost?
This year’s International Convention will be free for all attendees. No need to worry about reimbursements, payment plans or anything like that. Simply sign up for the sessions you’d like to attend and hop on Zoom at the appropriate time.
Who can attend?
International Convention is open to all Brothers of Alpha Epsilon Pi, whether you’re an undergraduate or alumnus.
Do I have to attend all sessions?
You can come and go as you please for all sessions! Choose to attend one, or all, of the sessions that are being offered. You get to pick and choose.
What is a Chief Delegate?
Every year at AEPi’s International Convention, one undergraduate Brother per chapter or colony is required to attend as Chief Delegate. This Brother is usually one of your executive board members. Things are a little different this year since we’re going virtual with #AEPi107. Chapters and colonies must have at least one executive board member registered for all mandatory sessions. These sessions are marked on the schedule as well as in the registration portal.
Are there prizes for attendees?
Yes! There will be an AEPi jersey given to the Brother who attends the most Convention sessions. We are also giving away a chapter flag to the group who has the most attendance from each chapter. The chapter flag prize will be based on chapter percentage in attendance for the duration of #AEPi107.
If there’s a tie between Brothers or chapters, one will be chosen at random.
How do I register?
You can click here to register for this year’s International Convention. If you are an undergraduate Brother, sign in with your MyAEPi credentials and fill out the form, indicating which sessions you’d like to attend. If you are an alumnus, you may not have access to MyAEPi. If that is the case, please contact Lynsie Morgan at [email protected] and she will register you for programming. It’s important to make sure the email and data you enter is accurate so that you receive the correct information about sessions you wish to attend.
What happens after I register?
Again, it’s important to make sure your email contact information is up-to-date so that you are registered correctly. Zoom will send you a confirmation email for each session you want to attend. You will receive reminder emails from Zoom about the session prior to its start.
What is Zoom?
Zoom is the leader in modern enterprise video communications. Basically, it’s a platform that allows us to bring everyone together virtually. We will be utilizing Zoom’s webinar technology for this year’s AEPi International Convention. Read more about Zoom on their website.
Do I need a Zoom account to attend Convention?
Nope! On the day and time of each session, all you need to do is click the link that Zoom sent you via email. Be sure you’re clicking the correct link on the day and time of the session.
How do I join and participate in a Zoom webinar as an attendee?
Zoom gives detailed instructions on how to join and participate in a webinar here. As an attendee, you can virtually raise your hand to ask a question or send a message to others in the chat. Note: some attendee controls won’t be available if disabled by the host.
If you registered for a session and did not receive a confirmation email by Monday, June 29, please email Lynsie Morgan at [email protected] to confirm your registration for Convention.
How does this affect the Summer Leadership Series?
For nearly a decade, the Summer Leadership Series has been providing undergraduate Brothers with a variety of additional learning opportunities as part of AEPi’s annual International Convention.
Unlike past years where the Summer Leadership Series preceded International Convention, this year’s conference will start on Sunday, July 12 and be completely virtual. The best part? This conference is also completely free to attend.
The conference is open to all undergraduate Brothers. Applications can be filled out on MyAEPi. If you are accepted, an AEPi staff member will reach out to you with further information. If you have questions about the Summer Leadership Series, please contact Moshe Lencer at [email protected].
Don’t forget to use the hashtag, #AEPi107, when posting about your AEPi International Convention experience. We may repost or reply if you do!
