ALPHA EPSILON PI INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY COMMEMORATES FOUNDING BY CELEBRATING SHABBAT ON 110 CAMPUSES AROUND THE WORLD

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) – More than 110 chapters of Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi) fraternity, the world’s leading Jewish college fraternity, are virtually celebrating Shabbat together this month with AEPi’s Shabbat Across AEPi program in conjunction with the fraternity’s 109th anniversary on November 7.

During Shabbat Across AEPi, chapters from the United States, Canada, Israel, and the United Kingdom, join together on two Friday nights (November 4 and November 11, 2022) to celebrate Shabbat. (NOTE: a list of chapters – as well as photos in many cases — participating in Shabbat Across AEPi in your area is available).

“Bringing so many of our Brothers together virtually to simply say the Shabbat prayers and break bread together is especially important in our world today,” said Rob Derdiger, AEPi’s CEO. “In light of rising antisemitism on college campuses and in our communities, this program makes an important point about being proud of our Jewish heritage and traditions.”

“Our fraternity’s mission is to develop the future leaders of Jewish communities across the world. Having the initiative and commitment to proudly host a Shabbat dinner as a fraternity event is an example of the kind of leaders AEPi is building,” said Derdiger.

Programming resources for Shabbat Across AEPi are made possible through grants from the Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation.
