Jewish EnrichmentAn essential part of AEPi’s mission is developing leadership for the Jewish community. As such, AEPi strives to engage its brothers in a Jewish way centered around Jewish values.
Many chapters wonder what they can be doing to develop their chapter's Jewish identity.
The first essential question to ask is,
“Is my chapter a Jewish fraternity or a fraternity of Jews?”
The programs that you plan for your chapter will depend on your answer. If you consider your chapter a Jewish fraternity, then you may consider programs such as an AEPi Shabbat or an event based around one of the many Jewish holidays.
If your chapter is more a Fraternity of Jews, then you may want to consider planning programs such as a sports tournament for the Jewish community, volunteering at a Jewish retirement home or a local synagogue, or working with Hillel on other social action projects.
Partner Resources
One of AEPi's best assets when it comes to Jewish programming is its partners. AEPi works with its partners solely to provide its undergraduates with a better collegiate experience. Each provides a different take on Judaism and should all be considered individually by the chapter. No organization will work best with every AEPi chapter, but each provides enough unique takes on Judaism that at least one should be deemed relevant to each chapter of AEPi. AEPi FoundationThe AEPi Foundation offers programming grants of up to 50 percent of a program's total budget or $250. These grants are available for Jewish programs organized by AEPi brothers for their chapter or their community. Apply now! |
