Orange County
On Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, in honor of AEPi’s Founders Day, the Orange County AEPi Alumni Association hosted its 4th annual Alumni vs. Actives Charity Softball Game. This year, the undergraduate brothers of Chapman University (Alpha Omega) and California State – Fullerton (Chi Phi), wearing white, battled the Orange County alumni, wearing orange. The alumni team was comprised of brothers from UC-Irvine, UCLA, USC, CSUF, South Carolina and the University of Houston. The team also had special guest—Andrew Feuerstein (Director of Expansion)— on its roster. Nearly $500 was raised for the AEPi Gives Back campaign for the Repair the World Fund. Earning a 18-10 victory, the alumni were led by sluggers Zack Kaplan (California – Irvine, 2003), Effie Joelson (California – Irvine, 1996) and AJ Mindel (California State – Fullerton, 2011); outstanding fielders Alex Silver (California – Irvine, 1996), Miguel Berg (South Carolina, 2008), Michael Fischer (UCLA, 1987) and Greg Halprin (UCLA, 1988); and tremendous pitchers Jason Feld (Houston, 1995) and Michael Finger (Houston, 1996). Rounding out the alumni team were several recent alumni from Fullerton including: Alex Golumbic, Brandon Halperin, Joey Fast, Arthur DeTalia, David Rosen, Danny Weitzman, Jared Brass and Sean Alfi. The alumni are now 3-1 in this annual softball classic and are already planning for 2017. The Orange County AEPi Alumni Association is proud to continue this annual tradition honoring AEPi and establishing a bridge between the undergraduates and alumni for our fraternity.
